Dog Bed
A dog bed offers much more than a place for a canine to sleep. It also provides a little space for the pet to have as his or her own. This can be very useful in times of stress, for instance when a home is being remodeled or extended family is coming to visit. A dog can retreat to his or her bed and gain some comfort from having this private space.
In some circumstances, a dog bed can aid in preventing the animal from being excessively destructive. If the dog is likely to start chewing on things around him or her, more things may end up destroyed if the dog rests in different places every day. This is also true if he or she has developed a like for sitting by a specific piece of vulnerable furniture. The purchase of a chew-proof bed does a lot to discourage these actions.
When it comes to selecting the right dog bed, there are many different places to start. Of course, size is a big factor, given the range of builds within the canine species. Another thing to do is to examine what surfaces your pet finds appealing when it is taking a nap. Does your dog like fluffy surfaces, flat ground, or something in between? Does your region make the dog prefer something which encourages or discourages heat retention? Finally, does the dog enjoy resting up against a single surface, underneath furniture, or being surrounded on most sides?
