Our Guarantee

We here at Happy Paws Kennel work very hard to place healthy happy puppies. Every effort is made to ensure that you are sent a sound, healthy, happy puppy. Puppies are handled and played with daily to ensure that your puppy is well socialized when it joins your family. All puppies are fully vaccinated and wormed on a regular schedule.

If your puppy is leaving the state of Kansas, the puppy will have a thorough health exam by our veterinarian, and will be issued a Kansas health certificate, which will accompany the puppy when it is shipped.

We require that you take your puppy to your veterinarian within seventy two hours of receiving your puppy for a general check up and advice on follow up vaccinations and proper care. We at Happy Paws Kennel sell our puppies as pet and companion quality. We do not guarantee the puppies for conformity to breed characteristics, or for show quality. Happy Paws Kennel can not guarantee the size of the puppy at adulthood, nor can we guarantee the puppy for reproductive soundness and quality for breeding purposes.

We do guarantee your puppy to be free from Parvo, Distemper, and Hepatitis for up to and not exceeding ten days from the date the puppy leaves our control. Should your puppy be diagnosed with Parvo, Distemper, or Hepatitis by your veterinarian within ten days, contact us immediately. We will require that you provide a dated and full report and a copy of all tests from your veterinarian, which will be verified by our veterinarian. In case of death of the puppy occurs, our veterinarian may request the body of the puppy to be returned at our expense for further testing.

Happy Paws Kennel will either refund the purchase price of the puppy or replace the puppy with one of equal value, or one from the next available litter and pay for the shipping of the puppy to you.

Exposure to infectious disease after the puppy leaves our care is not covered under our health guarantee, as Happy Paws Kennel can not be responsible for the care after the puppy leaves our control. Please pay particular attention to this possibility if you have recently lost a pet to an infectious disease.

We also guarantee your puppy against certain major hereditary or congenital disorders that may interfere with the puppy’s ability to lead a normal life up to one year from the date of birth of the puppy. The covered disorders are heart mummer (Grade 3 or higher), skeletal abnormalities, or blindness. If the puppy is diagnosed with a heart mummer (Grade 3 or higher), skeletal abnormalities, or blindness, we will require that you provide a dated and full report, and a copy of all tests and x-rays from your veterinarian. Upon verification by our veterinarian Happy Paws Kennel will either refund the purchase price of the puppy or replace the puppy with one of equal value, or one from the next available litter. You will be responsible for all incurred shipping costs.

There will be a certain amount of stress on the puppy when it leaves our environment. Happy Paws Kennel does not guarantee against stress induced problems such as Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar which is especially problematic in smaller breeds). Coccidiosis (which is dormant in most live animals) will not be covered under Happy Paws Kennel’s guarantee.

Our responsibility to you under this guarantee is limited to the cost or replacement of the puppy with a puppy from Happy Paws Kennel. We are not responsible for any incidental or consequential damages, such as your veterinary bills, costs, time, or effect upon you or your relationship with the puppy. Happy Paws Kennel will not be responsible for any costs incurred by the purchase of any other animal for the purposes of replacing the puppy from any other establishment and or persons other than Happy Paws Kennel.

In the event of any dispute between Happy Paws Kennel and you, you consent to the jurisdiction and venue in Hodgeman County, Kansas where the purchase originated. This guarantee and our transaction are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas.

If you sell, lease, or give the puppy to a third party this guarantee becomes null and void. If you are purchasing the puppy as a gift for a third party, please provide Happy Paws Kennel with the final recipient’s name at the time of purchase in order for this Health Guarantee, Limited Warranty to be transferable.

All of the above provisions are agreed to by you as a condition of your purchase of a puppy. A signed and dated copy of this document by you the purchaser must be received by Happy Paws Kennel by mail or fax before the puppy will leave our control.
